The new correlator (version 3.1) is under way, and I thought I’d share some progress…
Features:
- Combines the Spartan 6 FPGA and RAM for the raw data buffer
- Single SODIMM correlator board.
- Same features as the existing correlator board (based on a Papilio Pro clone).
The first prototype has been assembled
The new correlator is the smaller board with all the debug wires connected. An old correlator board is above it.
and a few bugs have been ironed out. We now have a prototype being tested on nz-elec. It will require another round of prototype hardware, but it is looking good for being part of the next development kit.
